42 URDULIZ BIZKAIA WORKSHOPS

This autumn, 42 Urduliz Bizkaia is opening its doors once again with a programme designed to make technology accessible to everyone. Through workshops on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, Python and web programming, as well as a new Python Piscine Discovery, participants will be able to discover new skills, take on challenges and explore some of the most promising areas of technology.

All activities are open to anyone who is curious about technology. No previous programming experience is required: the content is designed to help participants progress step by step, learn through practice and enjoy the process in a collaborative environment.

The experiences follow the 42 methodology, an innovative educational model based on practical learning, autonomy and collaboration. Instead of attending lectures, participants learn by doing, taking on challenges and sharing knowledge with those around them.

This peer-to-peer learning approach turns every activity into an opportunity to test ideas, exchange different points of view and find solutions as a team. It is a dynamic and motivating way to develop skills such as creativity, logical thinking, communication and problem-solving.

The workshops last approximately two and a half hours, while the Python Piscine Discovery offers an intensive five-day experience to discover first-hand how learning works at 42.

Artificial Intelligence Workshop: Create and Train Your First AI Model

Artificial intelligence offers a world of possibilities, and this workshop is an opportunity to discover how it works from the inside.

Participants will learn what AI is, why data is important and how a model is trained. After a brief introduction, they will work in teams to create, train and test a simple model, observing how data influences its results.

The activity will also help participants identify possible errors and biases, as well as reflect on the importance of using artificial intelligence responsibly. It is a practical, accessible and positive introduction to a technology that is already transforming areas such as education, healthcare, communication and industry.

Duration: 2.5 hours.

Cybersecurity Workshop: Become a Digital Detective

In this workshop, participants will explore the world of cybersecurity through a gamified experience.

The challenge will involve tracking down a group of cybercriminals and solving an investigation using techniques and concepts such as OSINT, metadata, cryptography, hash functions and steganography.

As they complete the different challenges, teams will learn how to search for and analyse information, interpret clues and gain a better understanding of how information is protected in digital environments.

In addition to learning the basics of cybersecurity, the activity will help participants develop a more critical and informed approach to using the Internet. It is a fun and collaborative way to discover one of the areas of technology with the greatest opportunities for the future.

Python Workshop: Discover the World of Programming

Python is one of the most widely used programming languages and an excellent choice for anyone who wants to start coding.

In this workshop, participants will discover the basic foundations of coding through practical exercises of increasing difficulty. They will work with variables, conditionals, loops, lists, functions and dictionaries, learning how to use each element to solve small challenges.

The activity will help participants develop programming logic, learn how to break a problem down into steps and create their first simple programs. All of this will take place in a collaborative environment where experimenting, sharing and learning from mistakes are part of the process.

The workshop will end with a practical challenge that will allow participants to apply what they have learned and see how much they can achieve in just a few hours.

Web Programming Workshop: Create Your First Website from Scratch

The Internet is made up of millions of websites, but how is a website built from the ground up?

This workshop offers a fully practical way to find out. Participants will learn how to organise the content of a page using HTML, give it style and personality with CSS, and create their first interactions using JavaScript.

Through a challenge, each participant will be able to build their first website and experiment with its structure, design and behaviour.

It is a creative and accessible activity that will help participants understand how the technologies we use every day work and discover the possibilities offered by web development.

Duration: 2.5 hours.

Python Piscine Discovery: Experience 42 for Five Days

For those who would like to explore programming in greater depth, a new edition of the 42 Urduliz Bizkaia Python Piscine Discovery is coming this autumn.

It is an intensive, in-person experience that allows participants to discover the 42 methodology first-hand while taking their first steps in programming.

Over five days, participants will learn Python through projects, challenges and practical exercises. There will be no traditional classes: each person will progress independently, collaborate with the rest of the group and learn by sharing knowledge, testing different solutions and overcoming new challenges.

Python is one of the most in-demand programming languages and is used in areas such as software development, web applications, data science and machine learning. This Piscine Discovery is an opportunity to explore its possibilities, put new skills to the test and experience a different way of learning.

The activity will take place from 5 to 9 October. The recommended timetable is from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, except on the first day, when the activity will begin at 10:00 a.m. Attendance throughout the entire timetable is not compulsory, although it is recommended in order to make the most of the experience.
