Learn by doing: bring your students to our campus
At 42 Urduliz Bizkaia, the programming campus promoted by Fundación Telefónica and the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, we are once again opening our doors to help the next generation build strong digital skills.
After welcoming 2,469 students from 56 schools and training centres last academic year, we are inviting your school to join us for a practical, hands-on experience at the heart of a real technology environment.
If you are a teacher or student in Vocational Education and Training —including Intermediate and Advanced programmes in areas such as IT, Telecommunications and Electronics: SMR, DAW, DAM, ASIR, AI, Cybersecurity, Robotics…— or Upper Secondary Education, this experience is designed for you.
All our activities are fully funded and based on the 42 methodology: a practical, gamified and collaborative approach built around learning by doing.
At our campus, we move away from traditional teaching models: there are no teachers and no traditional lectures. Instead, students learn through peer-to-peer collaboration, working together to solve challenges while developing both technical knowledge and the professional and interpersonal skills most valued in today’s workplace.
Four hands-on technology workshops
We offer four themed workshops designed to turn key digital and computing concepts into practical experience:
- Artificial Intelligence: Explore how AI works, understand the role of training data, identify errors and biases, and learn how to build and test a simple model.
- Cybersecurity: Take part in a gamified investigation challenge where students track cybercriminals using OSINT, metadata, cryptography, hash functions and steganography.
- Python: Get a practical introduction to programming logic through progressively challenging exercises involving variables, conditionals, loops, lists, functions and dictionaries.
- Web Development: Build a website from scratch using HTML for structure, CSS for design and JavaScript for basic interaction.
What does the visit look like? 3 hours of hands-on learning
Our workshops take place on Mondays and Wednesdays and last 3 hours in total. Sessions are available in both Basque and Spanish, depending on each school’s preferred language of instruction.
- Inspiration and key concepts — 1 hour
Welcome to the campus, introduction to the peer-to-peer methodology, and an interactive session to set the scene for the workshop challenge. - Hands-on challenge in our clusters — 2 hours
Students work directly in our fully equipped computer labs, collaborating as a team to complete the project.
Group size: We welcome groups of 15 to 90 students per visit, accompanied by their teachers.
Free bus transport included
To make logistics as easy as possible, bus transport is completely free for participating schools thanks to the support of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, which fully covers travel costs.
42 Urduliz Bizkaia also puts schools directly in touch with our transport provider, Cuadrabus, so you can easily coordinate schedules and pick-up points for your group.
